A man whose family was saved by Quakers from the Holocaust fears that the Quaker role in saving over 10,000 Jews could be lost. According to the Jewish Chronicle, Peter Kurer submitted a paper last year to Yad Vashem (The Holocaust heroes’ and martyrs’ remembrance authority) about the Quaker role in saving Jews in the late 1930s. Now he fears that it will not be recognised because of current Quaker support for Palestinians. “The Quakers saved 23,000 Jews, and a thousand things besides. The Quakers currently support the Palestinians but that has nothing to do with this history”, he told the Jewish Chronicle.
