FAQ

Q: What is Nayler for?

A: It is an entirely free magazine for Quakers to share their experience of their faith online. The intended audience is both Quakers and newcomers to the Quaker way.

Q: Can I write for Nayler?

A: Yes, send your article to Jez Smith, [email protected]. Jez will try to give you an initial reply within a week and keep you informed during the editorial process. If your article is not going to be used you will be given a reason for refusal.

Q: Will I be paid for my article?

A: We are unable to pay for articles. We keep costs as low as possible so that we can keep Nayler completely free.

Q: I’d like to write something but I’m not sure what, can you give me a suggestion?

A: We have a few ongoing projects. One is to write about why and how you’re a Quaker. Another is to write a review of a Swarthmore Lecture – there are over 100 to choose from. A third is to write a response to one of Britain Yearly Meeting’s 42 advices & queries. We would like to receive more Quaker perspectives on current affairs. Pick an issue that is in the news and write a Quaker response to it and see how it goes!
